"The Nearness of You" Concert

A star-studded lineup including Hugh Jackman, Patti Austin, Harolyn Blackwell, James Taylor and Donny McCaslin turns up to pay tribute to saxophonist Michael Brecker, whose urgent style translated equally well to the jazz and pop idioms. Brecker died of MDS in 2007; accordingly, all proceeds from tickets support a worthy cause: cancer research at Columbia University Medical Center.
