The Muffs

After a brief 2013 stint in the Pixies—after which she was apparently fired via a phone call from the band's manager—Kim Shattuck is back where she belongs: marshaling snotty SoCal punks the Muffs with her gravelly yet sing-songy wail. Expect to hear from the band's recent Burger Records comeback effort, Whoop De Doo.
