The Jonathan Larson Project

Oral historian and producer Jennifer Ashley Tepper, a gale force of musical-theater fandom, assembles an ambitious weeklong tribute to Jonathan Larson, with the aim of airing unheard songs by the composer, who died suddenly on the eve of his breakthrough with Rent. In addition to an impressive main cast of performers—Nick Blaemire, Lauren Marcus, Andy Mientus, Krysta Rodriguez and George Salazar—each performance features a guest artist performing a previously unknown Larson tune. (They include Daphne Rubin-Vega, Will Roland, Anthony Rapp and Jay Armstong Johnson.) The orchestrations and arrangements are by Charlie Rosen.
