The Jazz Gallery Home Run Benefit Concert II

One of the city's premier jazz venues—not to mention a frequent commissioner of new work by important young composers—is staring down an expired lease at the end of 2012, and the search for a new space has begun. Support the cause at tonight's benefit show (a sequel to an equally impressive gig this past June), which features the trio of saxist Miguel Zénon, bassist Larry Grenadier and drummer Jonathan Blake; a quintet including drummer Dafnis Prieto and saxist Steve Coleman; and Mehliana, the high-tech keyboard-drums duo of Brad Mehldau and Mark Guiliana.
