Dreadlocked young Israeli keyboardist, composer and arranger—more an organizer than a frontman—Idan Raichel mixes up sounds from Israel's Ethiopian, Yemeni, Druze and Russian communities, and he's worked with such diverse talents as Vieux Farka Touré and Alicia Keys. His floating, yearning melodies evoke the sunlight, seashore and diverse city voices that make up Tel Aviv, his home base. Expect to hear from his most recent album, Quarter to Six.
