The Flatlanders

A trio comprising Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Joe Ely and Butch Hancock, the Flatlanders formed in ’72; released a "lost" album, More a Legend than a Band; and then found bigger success flying solo, re-forming in the ’90s. They've made delightful new albums since reuniting, but their latest LP, The Odessa Tapes, unearths an actual lost 1972 session.
