The Citizens Band: Political Theater

Coughed up in the diabolic aftermath of the 2004 presidential election, the Citizens Band is a multidisciplinary collective that includes singers, accordionists, dancers, scenesters, an “aerial contortionist” and representatives of other vocations generally united only in movies about 19th-century French brothels. Notably, the band also features Karen Elson—fashion model and Mrs. Jack White, whose debut album, The Ghost Who Walks, put her on the map as a singer-songwriter. Now the gang gets political again with guest artists Lea DeLaria, Andrew Rannells and Meredith Graves.
