Boston duo Slingshot Dakota wrings big-hearted drama from its mini two-piece setup, plying emotive indie pop with only drums, keys and Carly Comando's soaring vocals. The spare instrumentation provides an excellent foil to Luke Hendrick's opening set with Teenage Halloween, a veritable pop-punk orchestra replete with multiple horns, several guitars and more.
