Sex Mob

Trumpeter Steven Bernstein and his madcap crew always create a ruckus with their funked-up party jazz; whether blasting off from Basie, Ellington or Prince, the group sounds positively torrid. The Mob welcomes a series of sharp guests for this three-nighter, including local chamber-pop mainstays Cuddle Magic (tonight); drummer Guillermo E. Brown, bassist Keith Witty amd saxist Christophe Panzani's electronics-enhanced collective trio Thiefs (Fri 13); and local punk-cabaret songsmith extraordinaire Shilpa Ray (Sat 14).
