Veteran Chicago pop-punk band Screeching Weasel briefly counted Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt in its number, and tonight hits Irving Plaza, playing behind 2011’s First World Manifesto, the group’s first album in a decade. Fellow melodic-punk vets Down by Law help set the stage.
