Socially conscious Detroit-bred psychedelic-soul auteur Sixto Diaz Rodriguez is a cult hero's cult hero. His late-’60s, early-’70s releases made him an unlikely star in Australia and South Africa, and a mysterious legend among record-collecting hipsters elsewhere. Rodriguez's rediscovery began with the Light in the Attic label's reissues of his iconoclastic vintage work, and culminated in 2012 with Searching for Sugar Man, an Oscar-winning documentary that unpacks rumors of his supposed death. As you can see, those rumors were greatly exaggerated.… Note that Rodriguez's Barclays Center show is at the venue's Cushman & Wakefield Theater, rather than its main enormodome.
