Southern folk twang, soul-tinged vocals, stadium-pop melodies, liquidy raps—eclectic Atlanta singer-songwriter Raury runs the gamet of black American musical forms and influences, a style which earned him a spot on magazine XXL's 2015 Freshman Class. In lesser hands, the approach might collapse underneath its own aspirational weight, but on his new debut, All We Need, the precocious 19-year-old sews it all together with tuneful sensibilities and a captivating voice. Judging by his killer Afropunk set this summer, this Bowery show is sure to be a hit.
