Pere Ubu

Founded in 1975, this Cleveland avant-punk troupe has gone through a busload of player, with frontman David Thomas the stalwart eye of the hurricane. The band's output remains influential among post-punk circles: Both its 1978 debut, The Modern Dance, and the followup, Dub Housing, are bona fide classics of the genre.
