Beyond monetary gain, there is no discernible reason for Pavement to regroup. The band concluded its initial run with no unfinished business and a secure legacy. It notoriously dazzled on record and underwhelmed onstage, yet its current run extends to lucrative live dates, not recordings. The band's five New York dates are all sold out. Jenny and Johnny is a snazzy new duo featuring Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice, a real-life couple with careers of their own whose self-titled album is a breezy and Californian, with ’70s harmonies and ’90s guitars.
