Pat Metheny Unity Group

Guitar adventurer Pat Metheny leads an expanded version of the Unity Band he premiered a few years back. Here, Giulio Carmassi's voice and manifold instruments lend the core group (saxophonist Chris Potter, bassist Ben Williams and drummer Antonio Sanchez) an extended palette, much as Pedro Aznar did in earlier Metheny bands. Expect plenty of sumptuous melody and questing improv here, as the quintet, heard on this year's Kin, winds down a world tour with a hometown club run.
