Veteran British guitarist Michael Chapman combines the visionary slant of Robbie Basho and his ilk with bleak, introspective folksinging. You can hear his four decades of experience in his haggard yet moving voice. But given the unnerving, staunchly experimental abstraction found some of Chapman's recent records, it's best to dispense with any expectations before checking out this gig.
