Michael Blake is a brash saxophonist who pens compositions that veer sinuously from straight-ahead jazz to the more off-kilter variety, with meaningful perambulations through Vietnamese and African styles. Tonight at 11pm, he supports an eclectic 2012 offering, In the Grand Scheme of Things, in the company of pianist Landon Knoblock, bassist Michael Bates and drummer Greg Ritchie. The 10pm set features World Time Zone, Blake's cooperative venture with bassist Ben Allison and drummer Rudy Royston.
