After 30 years and 15 studio albums, the pioneering, acerbic thrash metal crew helmed by Dave Mustaine is showing no signs of slowing down. Despite the departure of guitarist Chris Broderick and combustive longtime drummer Shawn Drover, the band's new release, Dystopia, marks a blistering return to form. The stacked lineup also features one of the most peculiar and improbably entertaining bands to emerge from the skate-punk underground, Suicidal Tendencies, which made its name combining angular hardcore with jazz-fusion-level chops and eerie singsong hooks. Finland's Children of Bodom, a band which combines extreme metal's headlong charge with the shameless triumphalism of thrash and power metal, open the night.
