Angus Andrews's L.A. trio Liars never fails to surprise and challenge listeners. Its latest, WIXIW, pronounced "wish you," is no exception. The album is an exercise in experimental electronics that should be filed next to Radiohead's Kid A—Andrews and Thom Yorke even share the same yelpy vocals (the two have toured together). Cosmically inclined ambient artist Daniel Lopatin, a.k.a. Oneohtrix Point Never, offers appropriately noise-droney support.
