Producer Phil Nico stated last fall that a followup to the seminal hip-hop album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is "closer than ever to finishing"—those types of rumors have proliferated continuously since 1998, but this year we're feeling lucky. Hill also just released six tunes on the soundtrack to the Nina Simone documentary, What Happened, Miss Simone? marking the biggest release of studio tracks since her debut—so either way, expect some fresh material as she returns to Brooklyn.
