Christina Pluhar and her period-instrument players continue their Carnegie Perspectives residency with three intriguing programs. On Thu 15, all-male Corsican vocal group Ensemble Barbara Furtuna is featured in a concert called "Via Crucis," a Southern European exploration of the Passion. La tarantella, the traditional Southern Italian dance, is the focal point of the Fri 16 show with guest-starring vocalist Lucilla Galeazzi. For the final concert on Sat 17, Pluhar excavated folk music from Latin America that is clearly indebted to 17th-century Spanish and Portuguese music. Her findings will be paired with some of the original source material, making a convincing case that the Baroque is still alive and kicking.
