The solo-saxophone medium pioneered by Evan Parker, Anthony Braxton and others has grown surprisingly crowded in recent years, as artists such as Colin Stetson and Travis Laplante have carved out their own personal niches. Add to that list Philly horn man Keir Neuringer, who gigs here in support of a new unaccompanied LP, Ceremonies Out of the Air. Dedicated to his late mother—she passed away in 2013—the album features meditative extended works that ought to make for a stimulating brain massage in the live setting.
