An avatar of retroqueer cultivation, the sharp-tongued Sayre delighted New Yorkers for years as host of the Meeting*—a variety series that combined hilarious rants with musical numbers and sometimes passionate advocacy. Now the writer-performer returns to Joe’s Pub with an all-new LGBTQ variety show. Guests on Saturday include Jaime Cepero, Darlinda Just Darlinda, Angela Di Carlo, Eric Schmalenberger and Dane Terry; the Sunday roster features Julian Fleisher, Daphne Only, Matt Knife and Paul Solieau.
