John McNeil, a veteran trumpeter who has found acclaim over the past few years mining forgotten bits from the cool-jazz annals, teams up with another player-scholar of note: Bad Plus pianist Ethan Iverson. Bassist Jorge Roeder and drummer Adam Nussbaum round out this promising band.
