Jim Black Trio Residency

Following a string of affecting releases with his rock-tinged, melody-forward band AlasNoAxis, drummer Jim Black debuted a new all-acoustic piano trio in 2012 on Somatic. That quiet triumph of a record hinged on Black's folky melodies and the restless way he prods them from behind the kit.
