Tonight's double bill places special emphasis on melding disparate traditional and experimental Asian styles. In one set, Ralph Samuelson pits his Japanese shakuhachi against Yoko Hiraoka's samisen and koto; in the other, Korean komungo player Jin Hi Kim collaborates with tabla player Samir Chatterjee and improvising vocalist Thomas Buckner.
