Immortal + Absu

Immortal helped write the black-metal rule book—corpse paint, ghoulish vocals, hailstorm-style sonic density—back in the early ’90s, and now that the genre is in vogue worldwide, it's good to see Abbath, Demonaz, Horgh and Apollyon back on active duty after a mid-aughts break. The band hits town tonight in support of 2009's impressive All Shall Fail, with support from Texan black-metal veterans Absu.
