Nine Inch Nails gloomlord–turned–Oscar-winning soundtrack composer (The Social Network) Trent Reznor steps out with his latest combo, How to Destroy Angels: a glitchy, alluringly spooky outfit featuring vocalist Mariqueen Maandig (a.k.a. Mrs. Reznor) and key Reznor collaborators Atticus Ross and Rob Sheridan. Preceding a set of summer/fall live dates by the revamped NIN, HTDA is out now for a jaunt in support of its recent debut, Welcome Oblivion. In support, DIIV (formerly known as Dive), the solo project of Beach Fossils guitarist Zachary Cole Smith, delves into xx-style mood-setting.
