Salon Series. Hyperbole suits Helga Davis: Her stage presence is extravagant, and her vocal range impressively broad. This classically trained vocalist can rock out as a wailing avant-pop angel, evoke a husky ghost of Billie Holiday or affect a nightclubbing opera star, all with the elegant ferocity of a Masai princess. If that's not enough, tonight she'll be performing "Mephisto's Song," a piece inspired by Goethe's Faust, as a part of the Salon Series.
