On Gold Panda's last album, Half of Where You Live, the British producer charged his superb swirl of hazy synths and graceful rhythms with a touch more dance-floor oomph. But on his newly released third full-length, Good Luck and Do Your Best, he veers toward the opposite route, balancing the kinetic sounds with a more meditative ambience inspired by his travels to Japan. In a live set, the songs translate into a kaleidoscopic journey as body-moving as it is contemplative.
