George Phillip Telemann: Day of Judgment

Telemann's epic oratorio doesn't just cast the son of God in its narrative, it includes Reason, Mockery and Devotion as well as Morning, Midday and Evening among its characters. Composed in 1755, near the end of Telemann's life, Der Tag des Gerichts (in the original German) will resonate in the beautiful English gothic when its performed by the American Classical Orchestra and Chorus. A lecture will precede the concert at 7pm.
