Geoffrey Burleson with Impetus

With one foot planted in academia (Princeton, no less) and the other in NYC’s vibrant new-music scene, the smart pianist brings ample technique and flair to heady music by Persichetti, Ives, Barbara White, Michael Sahl, Tzvi Gluckin and Frank Zappa. He is joined by vocalist Maria Tegzes and guitarist Dave “Knife” Fabris, who together make up Impetus. The show is part of a two-week festival curated by the venerable New World Records in celebration of its own 30th anniversary.
