Garland Jeffreys and the Coney Island Playboys + The Ebony Hillbillies

In the mid-’60s, Garland Jeffreys befriended Lou Reed at Syracuse University. Like his classmate, Jeffreys pursued a music career in New York following graduation, and garnered much critical acclaim with his cross-genre rock that splices in a fair share of funk, soul and reggae. His Twitter feed promised he'd perform some songs off his excellent 2011 CD, The King of In Between, for the first time—expect to hear the old classics as well.
