Perpetual motion is a good way to describe New York City's booming contemporary-classical scene, and tonight's concert welcomes a new player onto the crowded field. Ensemble Moto Perpetuo, founded by conductor and composer Amir Shpilman, makes its inaugural splash with the U.S. premiere of Philippe Manoury's Instants Pluriels, the New York debut of Anna Thorvaldsdottir's Hrím and a 2006 piece by Jason Eckardt, Trespass. Completing the program is a structured improvisation based on the preceding compositions.
