In just under an hour, the self-titled effort, released last October on DJ Mustard's 10 Summers Records, goes a long way toward showcasing the various facets of Mai's highly listenable, ’90s R&B– and trap-infused modern soul. Syrupy psychedelic textures, reverb-drenched piano, acoustic guitar, it's all here, and it's sure to have us feeling the love when she takes the stage for this pair of Brooklyn gigs.
