El Mundo

Essential early-music series Music Before 1800 opens the 2012–13 season with Richard Savino's vocal-instrumental ensemble El Mundo. The group performs a tantalizing program of Spanish and Latin tunes entitled "The Kingdoms of Castille: Spanish, Italian and Latin American Music," featuring secular songs, dances and ceremonial pieces by Scarlatti, Hidalgo, Falconieri and others.
