With only a handful of previous demos and an EP released earlier this year, Portland metal trio (formerly known as Contempt) is still green and untested. Regardless, it possesses all the markers for success: an eclectic concoction of genre sounds (ferocious black metal vocals, heaps of sludgy doom menace, etc.) and a cerebral-bent that recalls contemporary outsider-kingpins Liturgy (see the band's Borges and Camus-indebted lyrics).
