The very fact that Nicki Minaj has chosen to perform on Christmas day—not the day before or after—sums up exactly why the hip-hop star stole the show this year (and kinda stole Kanye’s album with her guest spot on “Monster”). It’s an outlandish, limelight-hogging and actually really cute move—and given that Minaj’s Pink Friday album is now the highest-selling hip-hop female debut since Lauryn Hill’s Miseducation, this should be a party par excellence. Support comes from Brooklyn rap hero Fabolous and rapper Lloyd Banks—perhaps the most successful member of the G-Unit crew not named 50 Cent.
