If the name sounds extremely familiar, there's a good reason: Jonathan Dawe's new opera, which receives its world premiere here, is indeed something of a prequel riff on Mozart's Così fan tutte—and given that Dawe specializes in quirky, fascinating modernist variations on earlier styles, the result is certain to be provocative. Ryan McAdams conducts an admirable cast of soloists and the Orchestra of the Second Instrumental Unit; Alastair Boag directs the production.
