Composer Portrait: The Choral Music of Nico Muhly

River to River Festival. For all that he has been depicted as the giddy poster child of the postclassical generation, Nico Muhly is a composer of seriousness and substance, and nowhere more so than in his choral music—a tradition in which Muhly has been immersed since childhood. Here, in an event produced by Beth Morrison Projects, Julian Wachner conducts the magnificent singers of Trinity Wall Street in a concentrated burst of Muhly's works, presented alongside those of the Renaissance composers who inspired him.
