Electric-jazz pioneer Chick Corea is no stranger to duets, having waxed potent sessions over the years with everyone from fellow Rhodes-man Herbie Hancock to vocalist Bobby McFerrin—so even though piano-banjo jazz fusion might seem strange, this particular pairing with virtuosic finger-picker Bela Fleck was always inevitable, especially when you consider the penchant the two have for open-minded, eclectic experimentation.
