Brooklyn Army Terminal is more than just a massive warehouse—the structure, built in 1918, was designed by Cass Gilbert (also responsible for the Woolworth Building) has unmistakeable atrium, and has served a range of purposes, from Prohibition-era alcohol storehouse to an industrial/commercial hub (and NYC Ferry terminal) of today. On Saturday, September 15, it'll be used for yet another purpose, as the venue hosts a free block party, complete with a beer garden, art exhibits and product demos from BAT-based makers. For entertaininment, the sapce will host DJ Natasha Diggs, as well as rapper Busta Rhymes and pop singer Justine Skye. Take a trip to Sunset Park as "Bussa Bus," is still one of the most inventive personalities in the rap game, digs into his huge back catalogue of hip-hop classics. Music starts at 3pm. And to cap it off, the block party is followed by a free Rooftop Films screening of the film Dead Pigs (which features Atlanta actor Zazie Beetz) at 8:30pm.
