Battles + Nisennenmondai

Battles' greatest achievement has been taking the listener-friendly experimentalism of ’90s post-rock (Tortoise, etc.) and grafting on a dance-floor-commanding pulse. The band plays here behind its second full-length, Gloss Drop, which picks up where 2007's Mirrored left off, despite the recent departure of longtime member Tyondai Braxton. Sonic Youth–esque all-girl Tokyo trio Nisennenmondai opens.
