Baths

Classically trained beatsmith Will Wiesenfeld has spent the past year or so focusing on releasing music and performing under his ambient side project Geotic. Though we love the gorgeous sonic textures therein, its under his Baths moniker (through which he rose to prominence) that he releases his most challenging and multi-faceted work. Weaving an intricate patchwork of found sound samples—everything from ruffling book pages to Miyazaki movie quotes—Wiesenfeld makes lush synth-driven pop as Baths that veers lithely between euphoria and turmoil. Hopefully this show indicates new songs in the works.
