Lumped into the fairly defunct witch-house movement along with Salem—not especially accurately, but whatever—Balam Acab, a.k.a. wunderkind producer Alec Koone hits town to play his ghostly, down-tuned grooves, which have picked up a newfound operatic grandiosity as of late. Admirers of Clams Casino and Burial should proceed without hesitation. Canadian bedroom-pop recorder Warren Hildebrand (alias: Foxes in Fiction) presents his dreamy mix of lo-fi fuzz, looped vocals and reverby guitars in the opening set.
