Areté Ensemble

In the second concert of the two-part Get Your Gamel-On! series, accomplished young pianists Manon Hutton-DeWys and Melinda Faylor, both of whom studied gamelan in Indonesia, play works by Debussy, Ravel, Ligeti, John Adams, Lou Harrison, Claude Vivier and John Cage that are inspired by the genre. They are joined by toy pianist Phyllis Chen and homemade-instrument crew Electric Junkyard Gamelan.
