The multidimensional worlds of Anthony Braxton come into alignment in a two-evening festival marking his 65th birthday and the rejuvenation of his Tri-Centric Foundation, during which he shares the bill with peers, admirers and acolytes. Tonight's dazzling lineup includes Braxton's 12+1tet, a duo of Steve Coleman and Jonathan Finlayson and a quartet fronted by John Zorn and Dave Douglas, but the real question is whether Braxton will be enticed to sit in with the members of his classic ’80s quartet: Marilyn Crispell, Mark Dresser and Gerry Hemingway. See Sat 19 for a related event.
