As if repeatedly reuniting the Sex Pistols weren’t surprising enough, frontman John Lydon (known to many as Johnny Rotten) upped the ante by re-forming his post-Pistols group. Public Image Ltd. (or PiL) started only four months after the acerbic Lydon, seeking to explore more adventurous music by pairing his scabrous howls with screeching art-rock and spooky dub, quit the Pistols in January 1978. Many lineup changes later, Lydon arrives with a new four-piece PiL, touring for the first time in almost 20 years. He promises a show that’s “full of the completely unexpected…way into the bizarre!” Actually, based on live recordings from recent shows, expect a lengthy trawl through the band's most popular songs.
