Maverick mastermind Michael Tilson Thomas oversees this concert that includes a new work for electronics and chorus by West Coast composer Mason Bates, featuring the stellar Young People's Chorus of New York City; Harry Partch's cosmic Daphne of the Dunes performed by Newband on a Seussian collection of homemade instruments; organ whiz Paul Jacobs on Lou Harrison's wonky Concerto for Organ with Percussion Orchestra; and David Del Tredici's spiky settings of Joyce texts, Syzygy, with soprano Kiera Duffy.
