Algiers + Savak

Pop experimentalist Atlanta trio Algiers carves out novel stylistic territory from disparate musical histories: elements of industrial drum menace, foreboding punk riffage and eccleciastical gospel vocals all converge on its self-titled debut. Add anti-racist, anticapitalist lyrics to the mix, and you have an incisive political voice aimed at decolonizing white musical spaces and reclaiming the black roots underlying them. Tonight also features a special screening of Director Christoph Green's concert film, Burn to Shine 6.
